“Grantchester” – Jemma Redgrave – Season 6, Episode 2 Synopsis and Promo Image

ITV have released the synopsis for Season 6, Episode 2 of “Grantchester” and the cast list features Jemma as Amelia Gurney-Clifford (so, Amelia has married St John then!). Episode 2 airs on ITV on Friday 10 September at 9pm. The full-size version of the image above is available in the gallery.

When a baptism service is disrupted by a man claiming he’s the rightful father of the child, and not the smiling parents around the font, Will and Geordie find themselves drawn into a complicated family dispute which seems to be connected to the murder of Joan Beaumont, the head of a local adoption agency. With both sets of parents having reasons to want Joan silenced, are any of them responsible for her death? Meanwhile at the vicarage, a sinister blackmail letter arrives for Leonard, forcing Will to visit his own difficult family in the hopes of raising the money to pay the demand. But when his newly-arrived-in-town step-sister, Tamara, jeopardises Will’s chances with step-dad St John, Leonard decides to take matters into his own hands – and face his blackmailer, alone…

Courtyard Classics Live – Featuring Jemma Redgrave

“Courtyard Classics Live” is a four day festival at Beckenham Place Park, London. Jemma will appear on Day Two:

Day Two, July 23rd – A Soldier’s Tale

A septet of London’s top musicians from the English Chamber Orchestra unravel Stravinsky’s virtuosic score, reliving the Russian folk tale of a soldier who trades his fiddle for unparalleled gain. This darkly witty theatrical work, narrated here by the legendary Jemma Redgrave, was first seen in 1918 but the planned run of performances had to be cut short due to the Spanish ‘flu epidemic. Virtuosic Co-Leader of the London Philharmonic Vesselin Gellev is the solo violinist.

All concerts last one hour with food and drink available.

For more information and to book tickets, go to “Courtyard Classics Live”.

Royal Albert Hall 150th Anniversary Concert – Special Guest: Jemma Redgrave

A bit short notice this but Jemma will be a “special guest” at the Royal Albert Hall’s 150th Anniversary Concert on Monday 19 July 2021 at 7.30pm:

Join us in this celebration of the Hall’s 150th birthday at our first full-capacity event since March 2020

David Arnold (James Bond films, Independence Day, Sherlock) turns his compositional genius to create a musical snapshot of the Hall’s unique history. Let this new ten-movement work, titled A Circle of Sound, take you on a sonic journey through our first 150 years.

Special guests including Melanie C, Michael Sheen, Nicola Adams, Brian Cox, Claudia Winkleman, Jess Gillam, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Charles Dance, LionHeart, Eden Tikare, Jemma Redgrave and Helen Pankhurst will join David on stage to present readings about each movement penned by writers Neil Gaiman, Jack Thorne, Dorian Lynskey and Joe Penhall.

Creative agency People – who produced the show and visuals for the 2019 Special Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies – and film production house White Stone Media will bring the show to life on the big screen.

Local choirs, schools, and other community groups worked with David for over a year to compose this new piece. They will also take to the stage to show the importance of our community after this year of turmoil, supported by our very own Albert’s Orchestra and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.

We can’t wait to welcome you back for this special anniversary event celebrating our history this summer.

Jemma will feature in #5:

Let Us Through the Guarded Gate 8’30
The Suffragettes and their history at the Hall
presented by Helen Pankhurst
feat. Jemma Redgrave

Tickets are available from the Royal Albert Hall website

“The Times” – New Jemma Redgrave Interview

There is a new interview with Jemma in The Times. The majority of the interview is behind a paywall – however, The Times are currently offering 3 months access for £3.

In the interview, Jemma talks about her home, her childhood and lockdown. The introduction to the interview is not paywalled:

I’ve lived in north London, in various parts, for 30-odd years. I’ve been in the house I’m in now, an art deco semi, since 2015, with my two boys. It’s not hugely prepossessing from the outside, but the space inside is lovely. The woman before me, Lotte, who was a refugee from Nazi Germany, lived here from the late 1930s and it needed absolutely everything doing to it, which meant I could make the space my own. She apparently said there was a lucky star over the house and she may well have been right.
