Jemma Redgrave will play D.I. Jill Raymond in the “Silent Witness” episodes “Hope-Part 1” and “Hope-Part 2”. Part 1 will air on BBC1 on Monday 27 January 2020 at 9pm and Part 2 will air on BBC on Tuesday 28 January 2020 at 9pm.
The synopsis for Part 1 is:
Teenagers messing around in a stolen car collide with a concrete pillar in a multistorey car park. The joyriders escape, but within the smashed concrete, the unmistakable form of a skull is revealed. After painstakingly extracting the skeleton encased inside, Nikki and the Lyell team must investigate a suspicious dating back 20 years. Meanwhile, Clarissa faces a difficult decision regarding her mother’s care.
The synopsis for Part 2 is:
The Lyell team identify the concrete-encased remains as those of Derek Marshall, survived by his wife Sue and sister Ann. Clarissa traces payments to a cryogenics facility, leading to the discovery of another suspicious death. Lacking any proper documentation, the coroner orders a post-mortem into the cryogenically frozen body. How did they die, and why was the decision made to freeze them?
The synopsis for episode 2 of “Grantchester”, which will air on ITV on Friday 17 January 2020, has been released.
All I will say is … oh, Amelia.
Will and Leonard witness a deadly and deliberate hit-and-run in Grantchester. Geordie traces the car to a pair of decidedly dysfunctional brothers whose house lies far off the beaten path. The victim’s wife, his employee and the two brothers are all damaged characters caught in a web of lies and betrayals, and it’s not just secrets that are hiding within the brothers’ grounds.
And at home, Will and Geordie both struggle as unwelcome guests look set to stay. Will’s mum Amelia seems to have found a carbon copy of his late father in her new beau, St John. All of which makes Will supremely grateful for his new mission at the boxing gym, helping wayward youths with new pal, Vic Morgan.
And a new television set lands in the Vicarage – just in time for Eurovision! As Leonard tries to bustle Mrs C out for the night, is it more than just this ‘coming together of nations’ that’s getting him excited?
